Connie sat in the playground by herself. She watched a group of girls play tag. They were tall and pretty and sporty. She watched a group of girls read on the steps. Those girls were slightly smaller and shy and loved reading. Just then, the group of taller girls came over to Connie, all of them. They had straight faces and walked at exactly the same time. Connie began to feel frightened. She was sure these girls were bullies, coming to beat her up and tease her.
