DINNER
I wish it was dinner now,
My tummies filled with hunger!
I’m not listening to the teacher now,
Mr. Macha-Gungra.
I am really, really FAMISHED now,
I hope tea’s there when I get in!
Maybe chicken nuggets?
Of course, without the skin!
Or perhaps a juicy stake,
With chips and carrot sticks!
Or peas and beans and onions…
It doesn’t matter to me!
Just as long as I have dinner,
As soon as I get in.
And maybe a nice cool drink, too.
That’s not much to ask is it?
I glance up at the clock…
Ten whole minutes left!
Now Mary’s handing out plain paper…
What are we doing again?
There’s a feeling in my stomach,
That I must eat very soon!
Or maybe I will die of hunger,
Or blow up like a balloon!
The bell is going, and so am I,
I’m racing out the room!
Hopefully when I get home,
Dinner will be ready soon!
WHERE’S MY DINNER?
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!
Stories of when I was younger,
Are usually quite funny.
Like that time I found the honey jar,
And covered myself in honey!
Or that time I found a bat,
Sleeping in the loft.
I said to everyone at school the next day
That it had sung be a song!
That time I wanted to be hero,
That also was very funny.
And the time I wanted a money machine
To make lots and lots of money!
Or the time mum took me Waitrose
And I begged for that purple bike.
When mum finally bought it,
I said I wanted a trike!
But that was when I was little,
I am older now,
But did I tell you about yesterday,
Me dressing up as a cow?
I AM A LITTLE WORM!
I am a little worm,
A little worm I am.
Do you know what I do best?
I wriggle in the sand.
But when there is no sand,
None at all,
I squirm around in the leaves,
Until my mother calls.
But when there are leaves,
Nowhere to be found,
I find the big blue sea,
And make a boat to go around.
But when I cannot find
The things to make my boat.
I sit apon a leaf and hope that
I DO float!
But when I do not float
And I begin to sink,
I have to do some thinking,
Thinking quick quick quick!
So I swim and swim and swim
(This is hard for a little worm!)
So I climb on a ferry and
Squirm squirm squirm!
But when there is no ferry
And I cannot jump aboard…
I find a dessert island
And get washed up on the shore.
When I get to the island,
Because I need my rest,
I drift off to sleep
And dream I am the best!
And when I awake,
Guess where I am?
Tucked up in my little bed!
A plate of bread and jam
By my side,
Yes it is,
You see when little worms drift off to sleep,
That’s what happens when…
I am a little worm
A little worm I am.
And do you know what I do best?
I wriggle in the sand!
